Three golden desserts are important in Thai auspicious events such as weddings with their meaning of long-lasting love.

The traditional designs are Thong-Ek (TH: ทองเอก): the one and only, and Saneh-chan (TH: สเน่ห์จันทน์): charm. The third is a contemporary dessert, Phakakrong (TH: ผกากรอง): generousness. Thais believe that having these auspicious desserts during religious ceremonies will bring great fortunes to their marriage. 

 The colour gold symbolises success, achievement and triumph. Gold is the colour of high status and is associated with wealth, luxury, quality, reputation, sophistication and elegance.
